Should you get a chance to go, check it out! It's architecture is amazing and the exhibitions are often very special and interesting from ancient art to modern art they offer anything. Just be warned that it can be very crowded! Even if they make people wait outside in line, it is quite busy inside mostly. But then again quite... More

The architecture itself is worth a trip. It is a modern, geometric interpretation of classical Suzhou gardens. Can't comment on the collection because it was very crowded when we visited so we didn't spend much time looking at the exhibits. I would recommend checking out some of the classical gardens BEFORE you visit this museum to better appreciate the architecture.... More

A very nice museum, well maintained and free. Artefacts are well preserved. Detailed explanation available in English and in chinese. Has an elevator for old people. Gardens and a small pond are available. Great for history art and pot lovers. A orientation hall shows you details of the various dynasties and the artefacts. The welcome center lady did speak English.

We went with a small tour group and learned about the wonderful artistic history of Suzhou and all about the I.M. Pei designed museum building. Each room and window is designed to maximize the enjoyment of the exhibits. It is like a piece of art in itself. All for FREE as well!

A good museum. All exhibits have plenty of english signs, so it is very easy to follow. After all the classical gardens in suzhou, it was nice to see a modern take on them.

I have visited the museum first of all because have heard about its peculiar design. I was not overwhelmed neither by the building, nor by the museum itself - comparing with Nanjing museum, for example

The Suzhou Museum building itself is worth a visit - it adapts old Suzhou architecture splendidly to modern times. The exhibits are averagely presented.
