Great place to unwind, go with someone that speaks Mandarin
Jun 2019 • Business
This is a street with almost two miles worth of restaurants, sights, performers and people - especially in the evenings. Great place to find a variety of dinner options, but make sure you find someone that can speak the language - otherwise, be prepared to point and act.

old bridge
May 2019 • Solo
there is nothing much about this bridge and I was told better to go at night. I was there during the day, quiet with stony path and eatery, shops along the way, as you walk across the road you get to Nanchan Temple which is good to visit since you are already nearby.

A mix of culture

You have plenty of shops and unique traditional old Chinese building to take pictures and enjoy a few hours at this place. Lots of restaurant and toilet facility are available as well. If you are tired, you can get the rickshaw to bring you down the whole street, CNY 10 per person, can accommodate 4 adult or the mini train... you can even take the canal tour on the boat.

Waterway old town charm in city centre of Wuxi
Nov 2018 • Couples
We visited the area in cool November weather, it was a great place for a leisure stroll and to greet the tourist boats passing by when up on the QingMing bridge. It was a weekday and the back alley was quiet with only a few shops opened. This side of the river looks a bit rundown in some spots. The other side - Nanchang street was more vibrant with eateries and more shops opened. We spent some time in a nice cafe, it was relaxing sitting by the canal enjoying the breeze. The canal area is particularly pretty in the night when the lanterns were lit. With a old-time flavor of Jian-nan area and places for food and some shopping, this area is one of my favorites in Wuxi city.

I enjoy walking the Alleys surrounding Nangchang Street - the Characters one encounters give off an 'Old School' Wuxi feel... When the Weather is warmer, but not yet sweltering hot... One gets to sneak a peak into the actual daily lives of the real residents of this quaint little part of Wuxi!?
