Spent a good two hours for a short trip in Jiaoshan. Great experience for those who are interested in Chinese history, culture or caligraphy.

It was very easy to get there by bus which cost the equivalent of $0.15. I purchased the ticket for the site in the building just off the street and headed to the dock. Once across the water, I started at the temple and was mesmerized by the peaceful setting. It was early and a weekday, so not crowded. After the temple, I spent four hours meandering and was able to see everything by chance. I had trouble following the maps that were posted throughout the site, but covered the area nonetheless. The pagoda was closed for painting according to my translator app that used the camera. I was beyond disappointed. I wasn't the only one, but found it hard to commiserate with the language barrier. The stone tablets were fascinating, the lotus ponds, beautiful and the history of the fort was interesting. The flower garden was a bit past the prime season, but still pretty. It was a wonderful way to spend four hours.
