Afternoon at the museum

Definitely worth a visit if you're a museum lover. The museum isn't huge but there is plenty to see. Most displays have the titles in English and Chinese, however the descriptions... read more

The museum is located on the Blackrock Reef shore, where people can feel the sea breeze blowing and listen to the song of the sea waves. There are total 12 exhibition halls in the museum, the animal specimens displayed inside are the most in China. When people are looking at the fossils or models of those rare animals, such as... The have lots of life sized paper mache sculptures of animals. The information is both in English and Chinese. Nothing spectacular but it is free.

Free entrance and opened during Chinese festivals, the museum in not very big, a bit more than one hour can be enough. The place looks a bit dusty. Dinosaur and earth exhibition at the 1st floor, marines mammals and fish at the 2nd floor, wetland and forest at the 3rd floor, Africa's exhibition in the basement. Not much coherence with... More

Excellent!! Quite a place with exhibits of dinosaurs, African mammals, insects and marine life. Also has geological section with information about different types of rocks, good for tourists, students and children. P. S. Entry is free, but, please bring your ID card or passport, has free wifi!!!!!

Definitely worth a visit if you're a museum lover. The museum isn't huge but there is plenty to see. Most displays have the titles in English and Chinese, however the descriptions are in Chinese. Entry was free and I didn't need to make a reservation. I found the museum well looked after and clean. There are a lot of interesting... More

I went on during the busy National Day holiday to find this place closed. My Chinese isn't too great so I couldn't figure out why. Maybe it will reopen again soon?

Free and exceedingly well located, It is really fine although some of the atractions seem a bit dusty and unattended, and the lack of english info makes things a bit hard for non-chinese readers. Good choice for kids as well as adults. Choose a sunny day and enjoy Dalian beach view, and the fine houses around it.

The huge whale display seems unattended, children can play without any supervision from the museum site, even the adults sometimes can touch it. However the building looks great from the outside, and the scenery around the building is nice, if you have children you can play kite, maze, or roller skate outside the museum. It is free to enter the... More

Always looking for a new adventure in China, I visited the Dalian Natural History Museum. It is located on the coast near the Sun Asia Ocean World, and I easily walked between the two. (Do not make the mistake of taking the boardwalk adjacent to the museum to walk to Ocean World, as it just services the beach and ends... More
