My last review of Jinshitan Baths, two years ago, said it was great but two years on it's even better. The waterfront has been re-organized with better separation of areas for swimming and boating. The beach is getting more and more popular. On the hottest days of July and August, there are a lot of people on the beach and... More

Take th subway 3 until Jinshitan. Then you'll have to walk 10min to access the closest beach (just follow the flow). We went on a saturday and it was not so crowded. Most of chinese people don't know how to swim so there's not a lot of people in the water. 2 things : the water can be dirty with... More

Jinshitan or Golden Pebble Beach is even better this summer, 2016, as it has new and improved restaurants, food kiosks, concerts, and other attractions. The big outdoor pool has been renovated. They have bubble rollers and jetskis on the water. The waterfront has been redesigned with bouys marking areas for swimming and other events. I thought it was a great... More

We traveled to Jinshitan scenic area by Light Rail from Jinjiajie station. About 45 min journey. This area has amazing rock features and beautiful soft sandy beaches. We enjoyed taking the RMB 20 tour bus to go from Wax Image Hall, Rocks center, Cultural Museum, rose garden .....hop on and hop off from one place to another. Journey with lots... More

In Dalian and have some time to spare? Well, I wouldn't recommend Dalian's "holiday resort area" known as Jinshitan (Golden Pebble Beach) on a rainy day, however even on a gloomy sky day there are numerous things to enjoy in the area. The area is riddled with mountain hikes, and small restaurants that are well worth a visit. The local... More

Jinshtan is a tourist resort with a beach and an amusement park. The beach itself is a little rocky and not that appealing although it is one of Dalian's better beaches. But in the summer it is packed and some people throw garbage on the ground. If you are here all summer then it might be worth a visit. However,... More

Winter is obviously the PRIME TIME for foreigners to go here, unfortunately, it is also a place that people go to get better when sick and far from private. The facilities are nice, decently kept and quite accessible, however again, privacy is little to none. You may be fortunate to get in at a time and stay for long enough... More

Take the light rail into Jinshitan, it is fast and cheap. This area has amazing rock features and beautiful beaches. I enjoy Jinshitan as it offers you a break from the hussle and bussle of the Big Chinese cities and is a quaint town that has a lot of fun things to do.
