Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I thought I was an old hand at dealing with Middle Street, but on my recent return it is a whole new ball-game. New malls have sprung up all down it course and the range of goods available is increasingly staggering, ranging from good quality domestic clothing stores to international chains, with items ranging from modestly priced accessories up to expensive, high quality jewellery.
Food is well provided for as well, with a solid mix of Euro/America style eateries to Asian and international restaurants.
Shopping extends well into the evening, as is the case in most Chinese cities I've visited and there are often street-vendors which appear at the intersecting roads and just off the main drag.
Sure, there are better specialised shopping areas if you are looking for some things in the city, but for general shopping and browsing, or to find somewhere to catch a movie, let your child play in a great kids play centre or even go ice-skating - it is hard to beat.

Interesting market ... completely underground and large. I went on a very cold day.. and it was good to be out of the cold. A lot of stalls with a variety of cut price goods... worth a visit particularly on a cold day.

It was freezing at minus 6 c in Shenyang city .We were going to a street shopping district in somewhere. Shivering.
Zhongjie Middle Street is a long pedestrian mall .On both side are large shopping centers , European luxury , Chinese brands and restuarants. There are Starbucks , Mc Donalds and KFC outlets everywhere .Freezing.
We were walking on snow. Our guide informed us , the famous Wuai Wholesale Market could be nearby anywhere.Frozen.
We are neither going to that wholesale market nor street shopping in Zhongjie Middle Street .We were sheltering inside a shop in the middle of nowhere. Defrosting below hot air curtain..

Shenyang's Middle Street offers a wide variety of stores and eateries. I enjoy sampling some of the street food in the neighborhood.

Walked along Middle Street (中街Zhong Jie) on 16 May in order to go to the famous Lao Bian Dumpling Restaurant (老边饺子馆Lao Bian Jiaozi Guan) from Shenyang Imperial Palace (沈阳故宫Shenyang Gu Gong).
Architecture wise, we saw more older buildings along Middle Street than Taiyuan Street (太原街Taiyuan Jie).
Took a few pictures along the way. Before 猴菇如意棒 (Hou Gu Ru Yi Bang) shop, there was a long queue. We don't know what food it was selling as we didn't have the time check. It must be selling something delicious to command such a demand. Li Ning shop (selling sports wear) is housed in an interesting-looking white old building.

The street is long a huge and filled with shopping centres. There is just too much to see and I could not even get to the end of the shopping streets. Yet, you can see even more shopping malls are being constructed. Overwhelming!

There'll be a Pedesterian Street in every city in China. Believe it or not, you'll see the same chain stores (Nike, New Balance, KFC, Pizza Hut, Daphane, Uniqulo, etc.) at Nanjing Pedestrian Street in Shanghai and the Xidan and Dondan in Beijing. Amazingly, Shenyang is no exception.
The street is good for people watching, a cup of coffee to settle your crave, and to get a vibe of what goes on.
If you've been to other Pedestrian Streets in Shanghai or in Beijing, skip!
