The park grounds were previously a part of the Qing Zhaoling Mausoleum which was completed during the Qing Dynasty. This park is home to various ancient buildings, monuments, statues, old unusual-shaped trees, ponds, and more. Some of my colleagues often come here to dance in traditional Chinese costumes.

Sal Hu, located in Fushun, Liaoning. The famous Nurhachi campaign against the Ming Dynasty in 1619, the Battle of the Sarhu, took place here. Nurhachi commanded 60,000 troops to defeat the Ming Dynasty 470,000 troops of the 4th Route. This battle was a decisive strategic battle in the rise and fall of Ming and Qing dynasties.

Easily reached via cab (less than rmb20 from downtown). Queue to get in wasnt long, rmb10 to enter park only and rmb50 for visit to the tomb. We also paid extra rmb10 (in cash) once inside park for the shuttle from main gate to the tomb area. During the shuttle we passed by the park which was well maintained and noted many locals dancing around.
Upon reaching the tomb,we alighted and there are still many "gates"to get through. So unless the weather is nice, suggest to take the shuttle as there are still lots to walk upon reaching main tomb entrance.
There aren't much explanation in English though.

Ah, the tomb of second emperor of the Qing dynasty - Huang Taiji, and his queen Borjite.

It takes a quile to get to the tomb from the entrance, but it's worth the walk in my opinion. Nice buildings, trees and lakes are along the way. There is a coach service if you don't want to walk.

The tomb is sealed so you can't see inside, but it's best to respect the dead that way. Since moving to Shenyang I would come to this place from time to time, it's very peaceful and relaxing walking in this area.

I would recommend coming here in fall or early winter, best in the late afternoon, as it is very sunny and hot during other times. You wouldn't feel peaceful when it's too hot right?

As I’m sure you have seen by now the tomb was a huge let down. You can look into the tomb, which is a room full of air conditioners and money on the floor, but that’s about it. However the path from the gate to the emperor’s tomb is a peaceful walk through some interesting statues and beautiful trees. Our friend When Yang explained most of the meanings behind what was built there (if it’s Chinese it’s probably made for good luck) which made for a pleasant walk. Should you find yourself in Shenyang, I recommend Beiling Park and the emperor’s tomb visit. But only for the walk it provides.

By far the most interesting part of the trip was climbing the wall to get a view of all the buildings below. It really did look beautiful and all the ancient buildings were so interesting to see. I hope that the video shows this well.

Kites aloft, families walking, birds chirping. Very peaceful and calm for a nice walk in the park. The water seemed a bit low in the man-made lake, but people were out on the water even though all the snow has not yet melted from the piles. Super clean place.

This is a beautiful HUGE park. There are lots of walkways and trees, large water features with paddle boats and canoes for hire, bicycles for hire, food/snack vendors etc. I lived in Shenyang and frequently went here for some greenery and solace. You can get a quarterly unlimited entry ticket. If you go very early in the morning before 6am you see local people doing Tai Chi and other times during the day you will see singing and dancing groups. You have to pay extra to visit the Qing emperor tombs which is well worth it., not too crowded or touristy. This park is worth a visit in each season, in summer it is green and full of colour and excited children, in spring there are new leaves on the trees and blossom, in winter snow on the ground, bare trees and frozen lakes and in autumn the leaves are turning and falling. Avoid visiting on public holidays unless you want to share the space with a million others - I am not joking.

When I first moved to Shenyang, I went to the immigration office for my resident permit, and Beiling Park is just across the building, so I thought why not visit this park before going back home. And I thought correctly, the park is huge and so beautiful. I went there in early Fall so the leaves were still sticking to the trees, and the sceneries were so green and peaceful. Trees, lakes, and bridges everywhere, and beautiful old-China buildings were there right in the heart of the park serving as Qing Dynasty tombs. You could rent a small caddie inside but I'm not sure how much it's gonna cost. You can go around everywhere inside the park for only CNY 6 (and it's free after 6 PM), but to visit the Qing Dynasty tombs you're gonna need to spend an extra, possibly CNY 50.

This park is worth a visit if you have some time to spare in Shenyang - it makes for a nice, cool retreat from the city. On the weekend it's busy with families and people getting together to play music. There are a lot of activities inside the park that would be suitable for families - boats for hire on the water, bikes available for hire.

Inside the park, the Zhao Ling Mausoleum (or North Tomb) is also well worth visiting.

It was a 5RMB entry fee just for the park when we visited.

There's food inside the park, but it didn't look great to us, mostly snacks and fried food.

Beiling Park is beautiful. Having lived in Shenyang for the past 6 months, we have been lucky enough to experience it in both summer and winter.

In summer, the trees provide cooling shade from the burning hot sun. The lake is lovely to sit by and relax, let the world go by. You could easily spend 1/2 day there just soaking up nature.

In winter, all the leaves have fallen so the sun streaks through to warm you up. The ground is snow covered and it's a winter wonderland.

I love how the locals use the park all year round. They just walk the paths listening to music or play a game of badminton or do tai chi. They love their park and use it.

Great place to visit to get away from the busy streets.
