Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I went here on possibly the coldest day of the year, but still enjoyed myself. It is a typical Chinese "mountain" with paved stairs all the way up to a temple. The funnest thing is you can take a slide down which is really fun. There are also caves on the mountain, and a nice view if its a clear day. And yes many many buddha statues and a really big gold buddha.

Thousand Buddha Cliff statues were carved during the Sui Dynasty (581-618 AD) and the ancient buildings are beautiful.

Buddha's, Buddha's everywhere! Yes the clue is in the name. Thousand Buddha park is so nice. There are numerous walks and paths throughout the park - some taking you to the top of the hill, others meandering through the trees and areas at the bottom of the hill. There's a cable car ride too, which takes you up the hill and a slide to bring you back down. It would have been spectacular to see in the evening, with the city lights on, however, I was told it closes at 5pm. I was planning to revisit this park during my stay, but sadly ran out of time.

Prepare to walk! This is a great place to spend a day hiking and exploring. There is a little amusement park, a chair lift, an alpine slide and on a clear day you can see all of Jinan and more from the top of the mountain. I have been 4 times and find something new on each visit. There are many shrines where people pray, burn incense, and worship. Hundreds of impressive statues and the largest Buddha I have ever seen.

The park here has seemingly endless walking trails and a cavern of Buddha images that goes on for miles. It is interesting to see all the different iterations and to admire the dedication that went into creating the place. However, be SURE that you are wearing good walking shoes. This is not a place to go if you only had a short stroll in mind. Of course, if you have plenty of time and can take it all at a slower pace, then by all means push ahead. Definitely worth seeing, pays to plan ahead.

The number of statues to see at this site is just astounding. You're best off giving yourself a full day to see this site if you truly want to do it justice. The setting includes a park-like setting at the entrance, with a gradual climbing path of stairs flanked by beautiful carvings. The paths branching off in either direction offer plenty of great statues to explore, and there is even a cave full of buddhas that is truly not to be missed. Wear your all-terrain sneakers for this one, and devote enough time to take this place in. You will never forget it.

A short hike or taxi/ bus ride from the city centre away is 1000 Buddha cliff mountain. It's a nice park with literary thousands of Buddha's. There is also a Buddha cave with even more Buddha's, it's a spectacle to behold. The cave is pretty deep and Buddha's and boddhavista's cover almost every square inch. Although a lot of them are damaged it's still a must see in my book. There is also a temple, a martyrs site and a very big statue of Budai, who we in the West usually think of as Buddha, but isn't (the fat Buddha). Jinan is an underappreciated city, that is worth a day to go see. Skip Qufu and go here. People are friendly and although I didn't see it the museum is supposedly also very nice.

I visited this park early September with a friend of mine. Since the park is huge, we did not visit all of it and only decided to visit the large Buddha statue which is shown in the photos.

The atmosphere inside the park is nice and you may see some Chinese who practice Tai Chi here and there.

Considering the steep sidewalks with stone pavements I recommend to wear comfortable shoes for a long walk.
