I asked my Chinese friend to take me there so she agreed, even taking her niece and nephew with us. It was cute and hilarious at the same time. For the seven wonders - my Chinese friends were asking if it is not insulting, but it was fun for hot morning. We spent about an hour there. If you have free time, or bad weather visit it.

I was very keen to visit the TEDDY BEAR MUSEUM and after much difficulty I managed to find the building. To my dismay the place was closed for renovation. The management should at least have informed the public about the closure.
No only did I waste my money on transport, I also wasted half a day.

It was a little far from the area I was staying in my hotel. We took an electric car rental so we could reach the place. As for the Museum it was cute, children friendly and family members will love the exhibitions. My friends and me we took lots of photos I even bought a souvenir in the gift shop.

Good break away from the crowds in China! this attraction, although a little far from Chengdu city, has interesting teddy bear exhibits that introduce attractions/cultures in different parts of the world e.g. great wall of China, Taj Mahal in India etc. Unlike most China attractions which are crowded, this museum is surprisingly quiet with few visitors. Not too difficult going there by public transport. Here's the direction: 1. take subway line 4 to the Intangible cultural heritage station, exit C (about 25 min's from Luomashi station). 2. walk about 200meters, take bus 761 (about 50 min). 3. walk another 800m or so (15 min). Museum is on the left end of the street. Entrance fee is 60 yuan as at August 2016.

It's between Chengdu and the airport so it's not a problem! I'm really glad I went, there is a lot more to see than you would imagine, don't miss it. It's a fun way to spend a couple of hours for anyone, even better for kids that can learn a little about historical places as well as laugh at all the silly Teddy's!

Teddy Bear Museum is really special. I liked everything about it; all exhibitions were fun and educational. My family had so much fun, kids and grown ups. Be sure to bring your camera, lots of great photo opportunities. And don't skip the outside exhibition with life size statues of famous characters. Its downstairs, past the museum shop. Have fun.
The only thing I did not like is the ride to get there. We had a private car with a driver, and it took us more then an hour to get there.

The place is very beautiful and special, maby even more for adults. With that said, it's about 2 hours bus ride (there's a direct bus) from Chengdu city center, and we pretty much saw everything twice after an hour and a half, maby two.

Visited march 2013, and it was almost nobody there. The people working there asked us even how we had found them (that was fun question to get!).
The museum is quit big, and has a lot of diferent teddy bears in different situations, our little daughter loved it. Our chinees guid loved it alsow and wanted to come back with family.
The area around the museum is quit, so its not down town...
Glad we went there, it was a special place, especially since it was so few there... :-)

This is a self-claimed biggest teddy bear museum in the world—especially considering its partnership with the Korean Teddy Bear Museums chain. It is located at the suburb of Chengdu, and may be tricky to find. A trip from downtown Chengdu will take about 45 minutes. If you rent a car inside Chengdu, be careful that drivers may treat this trip as a trip outside of Chengdu, and they may demand you a special fee for that! It is better for you to mention first that you are visiting this place (this exact problem happened to me).

It is quite expensive to enter this museum—but may not be for many Western-origin tourists: RMB 60 (about $10) for many, free for children less than 120cm (one free child for one paying adult), special concession price for adults older than 60 years.

The collection is quite extensive, spread over a number of chambers. Some of the chambers are: history of teddy bears, history of China, seven new wonders of the world, marine world, teddy bears and art, Korean history, photo tricks, and others. Most of the teddy bears are arranged in dioramas, depending on the situation: for instance, depicting the famous story Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Journey to the West, historical sites such as the Terracota Warriors in Xian or Colosseum. Interestingly, near the end of the museum (at the "-1" floor) there is also a panda collection, incorporating also the usual teddy bears, e.g. teddy bears as caretakers of giant pandas.

At the end of the trip, there is also a shop selling various teddy bear items. Prices are relatively expensive.

This place is suitable of course for families with children, as they will enjoy this for sure.
