The feeding time for panda babies starts as early as 7:30am, so you better get there before 8:30am. Pandas are pretty active in the morning and you could just staring at panda babies playing for hours before they fall asleep :)

This is not your average zoo. Where else can you pay the equivalent of a few hundred dollars so that you can hold a Giant Panda. Compared to some of the other zoos in China, this one is very good. Compared to some of the zoos in North America, the standards are lacking. But where else can you go to... More

I have been to the panda reserve three or four times, mostly to escort my Chinese and American visitors. It is a short distance from downtown Chengdu and easy to get to by taxi or bus. Be sure to see the "red pandas" and many people do not know about them. Also their main souvenir store is a worthwhile visit... More

Everyone says get there early. That is correct. Still, I was there when the park opened and saw only 4 pandas. But the park itself is worth spending the day even if you see no pandas. It is (at least before the crowds get there) quiet and calm and beautiful. It is a welcome break from the busy-ness of Chengdu.

If you are visiting China, this is a " must do" . Get there early ( 7.30 am) as the crowds soon gather to the point whereby you can hardly move mid morning, its so busy. Get there early, and see all the lovely pandas, and if you are lucky, watch them being fed. An experience ill never forget

Normally (as extremely frequent China visitors) you would expect this sort of place to be OK, or maybe good, but this is an outstanding example of what can be done in China. Really well planned, built and presented. Amazing. A must do. Warning for non-Chinese...there is nothing to eat there.

Awesome place, a must-see if you love pandas and red pandas! Beautiful walking grounds and awesome tours. For a fee, they will even let you hold a real panda! It was amazing!!! Just make sure you make reservations.

Worth the trip! We got to see loads of giant pandas (and even quite a few mischievous red pandas). We initially saw some of the pandas in zoo-like enclosures, which put us off, but later found more in bigger, leafy areas - there was no explanation as to why this was so. The grounds are extensive and definitely walk-able, and... More
