Loved spending half a day at the Panda breeding center. Loved seeing them play and eat as well as seeing the nursery. BUT, be advised that it was the busiest place we visited in all of our China trip. Hundreds of thousands of people so patience will be required :)

Definitely a must go as Chengdu is famous for Pandas. The park is quite large so I'd suggest to take the tram unless you can walk a lot. We were lucky as we got to the the little cubs.

Okay, I rarely say this, but this attraction is really a must see. Truthfully, the Chinese couple I was with made me go here. And, right off I was ready to not like this place. The entrance looks like an amusement park. Then you have people movers and maps and the whole thing that I try to not go to.... More

The pandas are well looked after. Walking through the park is quite pleasant. It's like a bamboo forest. We took a taxi from the city after peak hours in the morning. It was a pleasant 20 minutes ride. You can probably spend 3 hours leisurely exploring all the enclosures

The beginning of the trail did not have much to see... and looked like it could use some freshening up... as you go up further then the excitement starts. To see and hear the crunching sound of the pandas eating the bamboo and how they go about eating the bamboo was fascinating for me.

The breeding research center offers an easy access to a close-up on the wonderful pandas but beware of the Chinese holidays or weekends where you really need to fight for a nice spot. Would advise very early trip to the base. Beware of the taxi's just outside the base for they are already looking to rip foreigners. Would advise a... More

It is a amazing place to understand this white and black Creature. Definitely a must-see attraction in ChengDu and this is a very worthy 1/2 day activity to add to your itinerary . lucky if we catch the pandas in action.
