Great place to stroll around. We spent about 3 hours there. We left only because it had been closed for 10 minutes. It has the feel of a Japanese Tea Garden. Huge bamboo trees everywhere. Ponds and water features all around. Some beautiful buildings filled with calligraphy poems. There are also some incredibly nice stores that are pretty expensive. But... More

A little bit out of the way, and a fair bit of walking... DuFu cottage is worth while to see - especially if interested in a bit of Chinese history. Be warned though - the cottage is a rebuilt one. The park is quite nice and the hall of chines poet statues is well worth seeing. While I enjoyed this... More

Nice architectural piece. My favorite part of the visit was the surroundings. A huge park. IT feels great to get out of the crowded city and enjoy nature a bit, while still being able to visite nice attractions.

This is the site of Du Fu's residence for 4 years. Of course it has been rebuilt several times. Du Fu was a famous Chinese poet. Many other Chinese poets are also celebrated here. The cottage is beautifully set in luxurious gardens with paths and water everywhere. It was one of our favorite spots in China.

You have to pay 60 rmb to get in, but it's totally worth it. The place itself is like a big part with lots of ponds and small pagodas and then Du Fu (famous sage poet) thatch house. I went in January and it was still beautiful because they import lots of flowers. I suggest going on a weekday as... More

This is a little further out of the other attractions but you can get a bus direct number 82. Spend about 2-3 hours walking the gardens, galleries, shops and pagoda areas. The original cottage is lovely. Full of culture and information, I'm glad I took the trip out for it.

Du Fu was a noted Tang Dynasty poet. His cottage is a reconstruction of the original as to be expected. It is set within a garden where small streams meander by. There are a couple of other gardens where, when we were there, a bonsai exhibit was presented. It was interesting to see how a Tang dynasty house would be... More

Very busy at week-ends, the park surrounding Du Fu's thatched Cottage is sizeable and well laid out for an extensive afternoon stroll in very pleasant surroundings. An oasis from the hustle of Chengdu well worth a morning or afternoon visit.

Du Fu cottage and surrounding area are interesting at anytime. I went when it was a little colder so the hike wasnt that bad. Lots of hotels nearby so take time to walk around and see the scenery . If you are tired from walking afterwards lots of small golf cart like taxis can be had for 10 rmb or... More

not as crowded as other parks and very enjoyable to walk around. The park is not overly large and easily accessible by metro or taxi. There are 3 entrances so it is very convenient, depending which direction you are coming from. There are numerous gift shops within the park and surprisingly the prices quoted are not exorbitant like other touristy... More
