This place is poorly maintained and there’s nothing much to see except for the view. We were there at the end of the afternoon and stayed to see the sunset. The actual convent is not worth the entrance fee of 12,000 pesos per person.
You should go up there to get an impressive view on Cartagena. We walked there in the morning so it was not too hot. You can also get a taxi.
Entrance fee is 12 mil pesos per person and for the view totally worth it
Came here as this was one of the top places to visit in Cartagena. One important tip, make sure to have transportation to and from the convento as there are not options to find a taxi there. We prearranged a taxi to take us there,...More
This convent on top of the hill is a nice place to visit and enjoy the expansive views of Cartagena. If you take a taxi make sure you arrange with the driver to wait for you to return. I used Uber for a reasonable price....More
This was part of a guided tour. Guide was great and gave us the history. Glad we hired a guide as it would have been less interesting without the history.
Gorgeous views of Cartagena. Courtyard and chapel were worth the trip

it is better to arrange a transport from your hotel...you will find many taxis and guides for hire in the area...but be alert and beware. the area where la Popa is located is not a "touristy area and when we went there the taxi driver advised us to make sure the car windows were up and doors were locked...he stated that the area around it is a high crime area and thieves wait for taxis...and if you get a taxi in the area...driver might be friends with the hoodlums...get a taxi at the hotel...they will wait for you...give him a good tip and he will serve as a guide in subsequent trips...for trip and waiting time somewhere between 20-25 $ is appropriate
