I was expecting a castle and this is a military fortification. As my friend asked: "Where did all the people live?" Well it wasn't that type of castle. This fortification was essential in Cartagena's victory over Vernon and the English. Don't miss the statue of...More

This castle is perched on top of a hill, so it offers great views of Cartagena. There is an admission fee. The history is very interesting and information is posted at certain points within the castle. The movie is worth staying for but make sure...More

What an amazing journey inside the walls of this historic castle. There is amazing history to learn. There are secret tunnels and hideaways to explore. You can feel and smell the centuries of history oozing through the walls. That being said, this is a good...More

We loved wandering thru the explosive tunnels. There's not much going on at the FORT. It's a fort - not a castle - but it's still interesting.

They take credit cards for the entrance and inside as well. But once inside they do have minimums so best would be to have some local currency available

It will depend on the kind of disability. If you can walk up hill slowly, you will get to the most interesting site, with good views of the city. You will probably miss the tunnels, which are not so great anyway. The view... More
