Beautiful streets, buildings, facades. Just walk and admire the colours. Don’t miss the sunset next to the wall across the ocean.

Spend as much or as little time as you wish in this walled city. It is full of energy, culture, activity, good food and reminded us of New Orleans, Louisiana with its floral balconies and also southern US charm. As we strolled, we particularly enjoyed...More

We bought the hop on/ off bus passes and saw this was going to be the highlight. The buildings are colourful and the streets are hustling and busting with activity. We walked around and did the free walking tour that starts from the clock tour...More

You should spend a lot of time in the Walled city. It is there that you will find monasteries and the Cathedral. There are many restaurants for you to eat and the colors are beautiful

Great places in the walled city. A lot of vendors pushing anything and everything on you. But some great coffee shops and restaurants

You will be immerse in this rich and beautiful cultured city. Be sure to travel outside the tourist district and get to know the real Cartagena. The food and deals are amazing

This is a city for everyone. Fine accomodations to great hostels. Fine dining, and shopping both high end and low. The architecture and bougainvillea are stunning. Never felt unsafe anywhere we went. The only down side are all of the vendors constantly trying to sell...More

The colonial buildings inside the old quarter are very picturesque. The streets can get busy – not least with the numerous yellow taxis! There are few places, sadly, to sit and watch the world go by on balconies or Street side – but that aside...More

A collage of everything in Columbia. Very busy at night and less busy during the day but is hot. You can walk around everywhere but make sure you wear shoes. Streets and sidewalks are uneven

We found Cartagena to be inexpensive. There is no beer sold in the street, but there sure is great fruit and coffee.

Yes. The water is actually considered safe, but even locals drink bottled water. We always bring a cipro prescription with us when traveling in Mexico or South America.
