We visited the Jardin Botanica de Medellin during the "Feria de las Flores" (Flowers festival), normally the park is free to enter but during the Flower festival week its $18,000. At the entrance there was a police band on a truck playing welcome music, while we lined up to get our tickets. There are so many beautiful flowers displays it’s hard to say which was the best, in the center of the park was a band stand, were music is played in the evenings. There is also displays of local artists showing thier work, and even a place to buy an icy cold adult beverage out of the sun. We did not visit the butterfly house, or see any iguanas. TIP: Go early and take your time to see all the displays.…

I enjoyed walking the gardens while in Medellin. There were plenty of people there but it never felt crowded. This was a good break from the fast-paced sightseeing I had done for several days.

We went to the botanical garden and found it to be incredibly beautiful. We sat on a bench by a lake and a big beautiful iguana walked around us and others.

My teenage children and I loved the Medellin Botanical Gardens. They are located in a vibrant cultural area of Medellin which is an experience in and of itself. The gardens are filled with winding paths that you can roam to see sun-basking iguanas, beautiful ponds, tree canopies, orchids, etc. Be sure to visit the garden shop to purchase your own little bit of tropical rainforest and the gift shop filled with beautiful Colombian art. …
