Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The church is in a slightly worse for wear area, however it is stunning in its architecture. The church was closed when I approached unfortunately however Plaza Botero is just a few blocks away so I not disappointed.

I don't know if this is officially the church of the fallen woman, but it might as well be. The small plaza outside the doors and the surrounding streets are packed with ladies offering their services, some who you'd think should long since have learnt better. They will approach you regardless of the strong police presence. Inside the small church, there is little to see, but the altar and side chapel areas are certainly worth a glimpse.

This church has great historical significance, as it was built in 1682, the first Spanish church in what is now Medellin The plain while facade is pleasing to the eye from outside - not much to see inside but a lot of faithful working class Christians hearing mass. However, it's on a lovely small plaza where you can see kids feeling the pigeons, and touch those canons, if you want. Facing the church on the other side of Carabobo is a nice, second-story restaurant with a balcony (name?), and good but inexpensive food, where you can watch the world go by.

We would like to have visited this Church but as we passed by walking down the Peatonal Carabobo the stench of Urine was overpowering from across the street, to the extent that it made us gag!

There were numerous down and out individuals who were high on drugs and actively peeing up the side of the portaloos situated outside and some of them had done some washing and had it strewn over the benches.

Not somewhere we would choose to sightsee around, and it didn't feel in the least safe. We kept walking.

If you are downtown around Botero Plaza, this church is worthy of stopping by and seeing, it is unique to the city. I didn't go in.

Between shouts of items on sale from various stores near by and vendors hawking their stuffs, I had a hard time praying at this church.

There are long, brown columns located in front of this church.Inside are some statues and a small altar.

I am glad that this church was not demolished when areas around it became too commercialized.
