For some, the 400 or so steps to the top might be an effort but it is well worth it for the views of Dili, the bay and surrounding areas. Sunset is a great time to be there.

This should be your first stop in Dili. Open tues-sat so plan your trip. Excellent museum. Learned alot about this terrible history. Some say its a little one sided, but I thought it was reasonably accurate.

From the Airport to the city center it is too far to walk unless you are very fit. Within the city center you can walk to the parliament and the museum but bring water, it is hot.. The statue of Christ is a 15 minutes taxi... More

The Museum is only 2 or 3 blocks from the Port (as opposed to the airport which is a lot further). Easy walking distance.
