Took a taxi tour to the highlands part of the island. This was my first stop before Chinco Beach and the Tortoise Center. A nice hike to the top where you’ll see hundreds of frigate birds cleaning the salt off of their feathers. Make sure...More

Our driver dropped us here. The sign said it was a 30 minute walk. It is straight uphill so be ready for a hike. After walking 40 minutes we were on the summit and could only see about 30 yards in front of us. We...More

We rented a taxi and visited this fresh water lake, 700 m above sea level. There are spectacular panoramic views at the top. We were lucky as it was clear! We heard that often the crater lake is misted in and the views are limited...More

I'd suggest a guided tour. The views are really impressive. You'll have to walk up the mountain which is maybe a ten minute climb. The weather is a good bit cooler than in town, too. At the top, you can see almost all over the...More

El Junco is a freshwater ancient caldera lake that is what caused San Cristobal to be the first Galapagos island to be settled. Takes 30 to 60 minutes to hike all the way around it, depending on your pace. If it's misty/raining, it's hard to...More
