There are not many places where you can walk into a lava tunnel so its worth a visit. There are number of steps to get to & from the tunnel some of which are uneven so if you have difficulty walking think twice about trying...More

Hadn't planned to go there but as it was right next to the Tortoise Ranch it seemed rude not to! Glad we went though - just to walk through the lava tunnel and to look up it was quite extraordinary.

If you can walk on rocks and crawl for 5 feet you can do this walk. It takes 10-15 minutes total. Enough said.

Wonderful place on the way to Reservas el chato. You can go there by taxi and then reach the Reservas. It is located a few minutes away from el chato.

This was part of a longer tour of the Surrounding area. The history as explained by the naturalist guide made the significance of the tunnel stand out. You need good walking shoes and I found a walking stick helpful. Photography without flash is difficult.

This tunnel is located quite near the El Chato tortoise farm and well woth dropping by! Somewhat steep access but not excessively dangerous. The most challenging part is a shallow section requiring squirming with barely enough room overhead. The ground is a bit muddy, despite...More
