Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Waters are fairly calm here, good visibility, and fairly rich in marine life. There is a sandy spot, and a reef bar, and here you see lots of different reef fish - different types of puffers, surgeonfish, angel fish, groupers, hog fish, hawk fish, parrot fish, blenny, blue and gold snapper, etc...It is one of the best snorkeling spots for us so far.

We were taken to Punta Carrion as part of a tour. Although we weren't told our tour for the day involved snorkeling, and we needed bathing suits (obviously), our guide took us out on the small dinghy to see the wildlife too. We say 3 rays, multiple sharks, large and small, the Sally Lightfoot crabs and some hawks. A very cool place to visit!

Sea Lion Yacht - Great adventure out to Punta Carrion on NE tip of island. Snorkeling was great, white tipped reef sharks startle you at first and then you just get used to them. Our hotel had wetsuits for rental for the length of our stay.... water is not ice cold but it is not like the Caribbean, the wetsuit really made the experience much more enjoyable. Booked this through our hotel.

A snorkel stop at Punta Carrion is often part of a trip to South Plaza Island. While the snorkeling isn't as amazing as off some of the other islands, it was still quite enjoyable. The water is chilly so a wetsuit is recommended. This is also deep water snorkeling so you'll want to be a decent swimmer or wear a life jacket. On the plus side, since the water is deeper, sand doesn't get kicked up by people in the water meaning that the visibility is generally better.

We stopped here to snorkel. We took a panga from the boat Queen Karen1. We snorkeled along the coast. We saw some white tipped sharks, a variety of fish, and crabs. On the Queen we saw some tortoises, a couple young hammer head sharks and sea lions. Great fun!
