The lava tubes were a little dank and slippery. The turtles co-exist with cattle. The place is as much a cattle farm as an turtle sanctuary.

Beautiful. Amazing. No fear. Open fields and they go where they want. Walking with them is an experience. The restaurant food okay.

You can see there many giant tortoises in natural environment, tour start in small lava tunnel and continues on the grassy meadows. Unfortunately it's not possible to go out of the path.

Don your Wellington boots from the boot house and be prepared to see these creatures close up. Tortices and cows grazing together. What a surprise.

You get to borrow wellies and walk around the reserve on your own. The tortoises are everywhere and free roaming and it was a great experience.

I visited here during a recent trip to the Galapagos and really enjoyed seeing the tortoises. They were in a natural habitat, many in small pools and others walking around. Paths could be easily followed to allow you to view the animals without disturbing them....More
