We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not really what I call a romantic must see place. It is actually boring and all you can do is watch the ships in the harbor or take pictures on the sign.

I had read that this was THE most amazing beach in Manta, but it turns out it's usually overcrowded, full of locals wearing their normal clothes (not the typical tourists), families with kids making noise many times, pets not always being taken care of, and vendors everywhere you go. I prefer quiet and cleaner beaches, so not my favorite.
I recommend going at 6 a.m. or 6 p.m. for running or doing yoga. Other than that, I'd just go by for a short while. Wouldn't be comfortable spending a whole day there.
(The pics I am sharing here were taken at the hours when the beach was a bit more peaceful, and once groups of people had cleaned some areas).

A fish market is a fish market. Stalls with tables. Great view of different types of fish. The market is adjacent to a boat dock yard where you can see them repairing and constructing mostly fishing boats.

The beach is okay, but the arrival of the fishing boats and their catch starting at 6:00 am is something not to miss. Fish are sold on the spot to restaurants who truck them to Quito, Salinas and other cities as well as directly to customers and then to the vendors in the fish market which is right there on the beach.

So much trash dumped on the beach by the boatyard. We had a ceviche but could not get the spoon from the bowl to our mouths without a fly intercepting it.

Not very nice beach. Very dirty fish market with a ton of flies. Tried to get a drink at the beach bars but you couldnt put your glass down without 10 flies landing on it. A very contaminated looking river also bled out red water into the surf. Santa Marianita was WAY better.

One of the big beaches near the center with some restaurants for seaside dining, some wooden boats being built.

Fishermen land their catch every morning at Playa Tarqui: maxi maxi, small tuna, and a huge amount of sharks of all sorts. It is highly interesting if you are into seafood and the way it gets to your table, although not for the faint-hearted. There are a good numbers of small restaurants on the premises.

This is close to the port and is a sandy beach.

When we were there the tide was out and there is plenty of sand.

No Toilets seen unless you go to the restaurants.

Your home toilet will be less dirty than this unsightly beach. Get your vaccinations before going. I have found used toilet paper on this beach.
