Your imagination will go wild while thinking about this man made channel. Connecting the world together is not an easy job foe the canal pilots. I enjoyed visiting and crossing it twice today. Using the ferry for free.

Going through the canal was probably one of the most amazing experiences that I can remember of my life. If you get a chance to do this go for it!

After a few days in Dahab, me and a friend were travelling back to Cairo. This time we saw the crossing by day and was quite impressed. Mainly because as we approached from the desert, we witnessed an enormous container ship sailing through in front of us. We didnt actually see the canal itself.

"Take Cover!" I heard my Captain scream. A deafening thud came from about 20 yards to my right as I threw my body into the dunes. The intense heat of the sand in the midday sun burnt my face, but I quickly hoisted myself back up spitting the dirt out of my mouth. "That armoured train is going to be... More

We had previously been spoilt with two journeys through the Panama Canal on other Princess cruise ships and when compared with those experiences this particular voyage was not as rewarding. It was the Emerald Princess' first voyage through the canal and consequently the ship had to be inspected prior to the journey. We left our anchor position outside Port Said... More
