I only have great things to say about Dive UK, they bent over backwards to meet my needs. First of all I had plans that fell through so needed help urgently with configuring my new sidemount rig before joining a livaboard. With just 4 days before we set sail I contacted Dive Uk to see if they could help me and they managed to organise a sidemount instructor at last minute to help me set my configuration, check my gear, few tips and tweak my trim.
With the plans all in place Jason bloody Deurolo threw a spanner in the works! So I missed my connection flight, I told Emma who rearranged the plans because I wouldnt make it on time. They picked me up and we did a shore dive where the train open water. I didn’t care about the dive as my objective was to configure my gear and get comfortable with it. With a quick trim check and few adjustments Magz my instructor surfaced for a quick chat, showed me some pictures of my trim and kick techniques with a bit of advice we descended for our dive.
Initially I thought “oh god” how’s this dive going to be as all I saw was tyres and junk. But once we left the harbour area we approached a beautiful wreck with loads of life. I was suprise to see such an enormous sea turtle so close to the shore, lion fish scattered the wreck, visibility was great, even cuttlefish with an electric blue stripe which was my favourite.
I’ve dived all over the world from south east Asia, Europe, Central America and I’ve never been more comfortable than when diving in Egypt and had the same experience with Dive Uk.
If I was looking to do any dive course like and open water or advanced this would be the perfect team to work with. If I return to Hurgahad to dive I will be joining them again.
