Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To much time travelling on unmade roads, very bumpy thrown about in the jeep and not enough time spent on the activities, hurried around

This was one of the best tours I’ve ever been on. Both my guide and driver were amazing. I was picked up off the port after my cruise ship arrived. The tour was tailor made for me and included bringing school supplies to a public primary school. The guide was full of endless information about the Gambia. Was a perfect day.

I got picked up at 8am and returned to my hotel just after 4pm. I had a dedicated driver and a dedicated tour guide just to myself - a very educational day at the:
- Crocodile pools
- Main market
- Relaxing stop for tea/coffee near a beautiful lake/tributary
- Fish market
- Visiting family and children in the village
- and more

Just be mindful that the trip takes long due to the untarred roads of Gambia acting as a natural speed bump!

Excellent tour with ML and Assan. A real highlight was visiting a school and a family in a village. It was a great day and ML made sure we were given information on all the activities. Easy communication with the tour company to bespoke our requirements. Highly recommend this tour with this company.

Great one day tour with the best guide in Gambia, ML! ML gave me so much info on Gambia’s culture, history, traditions and every day life! He has a political science academic background and so kind and friendly!! Thanks ML for this great experience! Go with Arch Tours and ML! Strongly recommended!!

We arrived by cruise ship for a full day The Gambia experience and were not disappointed. Emmel, our incredibly friendly and knowledgeable tour guide with excellent English skills wowed us virtually all day. His personal and wide-ranging insights into the history, culture, politics and economy of The Gambia were insightful. We learned so much. But most of all, our visit to a family in a quiet seemingly "remote" village and the opportunity to interact with the children and speak with the other family members was an experience of a lifetime. We sadly didn't think about bringing small presents (pens, pencils, notebooks or even the amazing pastries from the ship) -- so anyone reading this and considering this visit, please do so on our behalf. I would be glad to reimburse you for your expenses -- we were so moved by this personal experience.

We have had many guides from many agencies in many different countries around the world and Emmel is surely in the top five

THANKSW, EMMEL!!

We went with Arch Tours to their 4 tours in 1 day and for the 2-day Georgetown trip. During our time in The Gambia, we used 3 different tour companies, and Arch Tours was our favorite, mostly due to the tour guide "M.L." He is very friendly, explains everything very well, and tries to protect his customers from any issues.
The meals that were included with our tours were good and there were always drinks available for us.
The boat ride to see the chimpanzees was awesome and left right from our hotel.
The home we visited as part of the Georgetown tour was very cool. It is way out in the country and consists of one big family. It is definitely different than visiting a village close to the city.
We enjoyed both tours and would recommend them both. Their Georgetown tour recently changed their overnight accomodations to Kairoh Garden Kuntaur, which was definitely an improvement, but do be aware their wifi isn't great, the beds are brutally hard, and it is hot with no air conditioning.

I can highly recommend Arch tours.

I booked this agency for airport pickup and drop off. I had accommodation at Airbnb in Serrekunda on the street without any name. I just gave phone number of the accomodation to the driver and he called to the accomodation and found out how to get there. So it was without any problems for me.

The other day I did the 4 tours in 1 day. Such an amazing trip, I feel I did more than just 4 tours in 1 day :) Very kind guides (one of them was actually the owner). There were 6 tourist, 2 guides + driver. Lot's of drinks were provided during the tour.

Then I took the Marakisa Rivercamp. I was the only one there so I had my personal guide :) Even if I don't know much about the birds, the river cruise was amazing experience, we even saw wild crocodile. If you want to see amazing nature and you prefer not so touristic place, just take this one.

The drop off to the airport was again without any problems, we made it in time even despite the heavy traffic.

In total, it's 5/5 and I'll definitely take this agency again if I visit Gambia again. Moreover this agency is local one and you will support the locals by booking them :)
