The story about Ali and Nino is about a forbidden love between Ali the muslim and Nino the christian. They could not fulfill their love and that is the reason that the movies statues actually do not meet.

A very interesting kinetic statue with a popular legend behind it. Preferably to see at night. But at day is very nice also. Be patient to it’s start Till the end. You will be surprised!!!

I certainly wouldn't make this a highlight of a trip to Batumi. We strolled past in the day and at night, but struggled to really appreciate this. Interesting, but not that stunning either . . . .

This monument first of all impressive with its mechanism and how two bodies merge together and separates. Than there is a lovely story about that 2 young people... you sit next to it and wonder...

The statue is much more impressive at night when lit up and then it moves constantly. I didn't stop during the day, only drove by several times.
