Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our base at Chidyatapu was the newly built Big Tree Hotel, which was the ideal place to stay for anglers who have their charter boat stationed in the bay at Chidyatapu. Also the ideal place to stay if you are into scuba diving as there is a well known diving school right there and also for bird watchers as Chidyatapu as the name suggests is a place where many rare species of birds can be found.
The hotel in itself has great accommodation in the form of cottages with modern amenities in the rooms. The staff were wonderful people who strive to please their customers. All in all, a great place to stay after a long day out doing whatever brings you to Chidyatapu. In our case, it was big game fishing.

The road to Chidiyatapu is under construction and it is a nightmare to ride on a scooty. By end of 2020 the road will be completed and at least the ride will be comfortable.
The Biodiversity park is mildly interesting for those who have not seen any botanical garden.
As far as the Beach goes, it doesnt compare with the other popular beaches on the Union Territory

Enjoyed the sunset here. It is a lovely place and the drive to this point from main Port Blair is very scenic.
We were suggested by our Tour Operator Gopal from Sadai Tours to visit this place. He had arranged a vehicle for us to do local sight seeing in POrt Blair for 3 days. He knows the islands very well and has the best suggestions. After Ross Island, we were taken for lunch to Light House restaurant from where we started our trip to Munda Oahar and Chidiya Tapu. The drivers on all the days including the ones in Havelock and Neil were very decent and knew about the places very well.
Contact Goapl (+91 99332 02151) for all our travel booking in Andaman including Havelock and Neil (ferry + boat tickets, vehicles in the island, day wise travel planning, tickets to tourist spots, collection of RTPCR reports of kids +++). The best thing about going through Gopal is that you can get a car anytime you want and the payment (Port Blair + Havelock + Neil) is to be done at one go (after the trip ends / when you return from Port Blair).

Everyday in Andaman seems like an unparalleled experience and the sunset at chidiya tapu surely lives up to that expectation. It is 22kms from Port Blair airport. A small climb leads to a sunset viewing point to soak in the experience better. A little hike past the biological garden leads to the beach for a quiet evening with nature. There are a lot of stray dogs in the area, be kind and feed them.

We visited Chidiyatapu after visiting Havelock and Neil Island and was very disappointed. We did not even stay for the actual sunset to happen. There is nothing left at chidiyatapu so they take you to munda pahad and make you wait there till its time for sunset. Munda pahad has a trek option and some place to sit etc so they let you do time pass there till they have to bring you back to chidiya tapu for the sunset. Apparently the tsunami ruined chidiyatapu.

The visit to Chidiya Tapu and Munda Pahad beach is a must do experience. Most part of the drive from Port Blair to the beach is lush green and pleasant with glimpses of sea from smaller beaches. The beach itself isn’t very big but the overall experience is different. The sunset view across from a small tea stall which serves excellent pakoras with hot tea/ coffee is the cherry on the cake. Gopal (+91 9531918600 or +91 9933202151) who runs Sadai Gopal Tours is an enthusiastic guide & travel expert for the Andamans. Whether in Port Blair or in Havelock all the travel and sightseeing arrangements made through him were seamless & hassle free. His charges are reasonable and he makes sure the guests get a lot more for their spend. Meticulous courteous and humble, Gopal made this trip very memorable for us … And yes he doubles up as a photographer too in case you need one. Thank you Gopal

The island is famous for its variety of bird species, many indigenous to the island. Do not miss the mesmerizing view of the sunset and keep your camera ready to capture the moments. (Timings: 5am -5pm, Entry free).

Set approximately 22 kms from Port Blair is this place famous for sunset and strolling (I'll refrain from using trekking as the climb is small and easy). You can sit there enjoying the nature and sipping tea. The walk up to Munda Pahar closes by 5 pm so be early if you wanna go there too.
Be cautious of venturing into the waters as crocodiles are very common there. The fallen trees make a good backdrop for photo enthusiast.

Could any one share me contact phone numbers of Forest Rest Houses at Chidiya Tapu, Wandoor and Mount Harriet in Andaman

There's one forest guest guest house which provides Basic stay facility in Chidiya Tapu. I don't think they've phone numbers there. You may have to search google for the Forest department of Portblair and ask for stay in Chidiya tapu.
But Wild Grass is a good resort in Chidiya Tapu. I think TripAdvisor has the details

After that it becomes dark.

How did you manage to rent a bike? Could not see any official link where this is written (bike rentals).
Written 19 September 2016
Hi Alok,
I befriended the hotel staff where i was working and asked one of them to take me on his bike, where i paid him for his fuel, lunch & dinner.
going by car is more comfortable but i prefer a bike as i can stop and take pictures as i am a professional photographer. so also bikes are easy to access some remote area's where a car cant go.
so yeah.. thats it.

If I get a rented bike, would it be recommended to drive to Chidiya Tapu on bike?
