Golconda fort is the Nizam of Hyderabad regime witness of actions. Fort can be viewed with Guide who charges Rs.100-150/-.. It is better climb from Cement slabs side, which is right side of the fort. Evening light and shawdow play is not enjoyable due to Bats and mosquitoes and it is boring. Government needs to work on this..

At the top of the Fort you can see Hyderabad city, at the other side you would see some forest, very nice view. You can imagine its prosperous history by looking at the relic.

I takes some imagination to see what it might have looked like at its peak but worth it. The view from the top along with the cool breeze is one to remember.

We walked with a guide to the top of the fort. We were glad to have the guide explain things along the way and to demonstrate the impressive acoustics, strategically engineered throughout the fort. The views from the top are worth the effort. We highly recommend visiting Golkonda Fort, especially with a guide. The light show at the end was... More

Golconda Fort has history dating back few hundred years. Also the famous Kohinoor diamond was mined here. Its a nice place for a walk, well maintained. Kids can have fun seeing the old canons and the clap at the entrance which resonates and can be heard at the top of the fort.

The fort is big..it took almost 4 hours to see the whole fort. The guide explained us all the history related to the fort. U can walk around the whole fort to see the beau sculpture. One can see the hyderbad from the top. In the evening we enjoyed the light and sound show at the fort around 7 pm.... More

I visited just to see the light and sound show with the family... It was so lengthy and so many names.. Got us confused and sleepy too. Lots of mosquitoes and odomos cream.. I will never recommend this to anyone, unless it's a history interested person

We attended a couple of times during a lengthy business trip. The Fort is not terribly well maintained but is quite impressive none the less. Situated on the highest point in Hyderabad this is well worth the trip. Guides will harass you at the entrance but charge quite a lot for what you get. Do some homework yourself before attending... Golconda Fort, is as old as the Kakatiyas, and brought to its formidable form by the Bahamani rulers and Qutb Shahs. The fort has many unique features and offers interesting insights into early engineering and architectural feats. This is a *long review*. Skip to the 'Uniqueness' section, to find what makes this Fort special. Location and parking: In close proximity... More
