Know your farmer, know your food! Ever wonder what a super food is? Do you know the climate of Alamogordo is identical to Iran? Eagle Ranch is a self contained agribusiness which means that everything that is done to the crop, from start to finish, is done right here on the premises. Our most popular attraction, the FREE farm tour, offers visitors a behind the scenes look at harvesting and processing pistachios while providing unusual and little known facts about one of America's favorite snacks. The tour takes about forty-five minutes. You will visit the field, the processing plant, the salting and roasting facility, as well as our packaging and shipping departments. It's a walking tour with wheelchair accessibility. Don't forget to leave plenty of time to visit our gift shop. We offer FREE samples of our pistachio products and candies, as well as our award winning wines. Enjoy a glass of wine or pistachio ice cream on The Grove Patio overlooking the pistachio trees. The Grove Patio is even available for private events. Free Tours Daily June - August: Monday through Friday, twice a day at 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM September - May: Monday through Friday at 1:30 PM Groups: We are happy to accommodate groups of 10 or more by appointment. Buses Welcome!

We're sorry you were not able to take the tour or do any of the tastings. You would have had the opportunity to learn how pistachios are grown and processed, if you would have taken the tour. You would have been able to taste the...More

Love your review. The difference is amazing isn't it? New Mexico farm fresh pistachios blow the competition away! We offer a large selection of products including beautiful gift baskets on the website. Perfect gifts for every foodie on your list!

I have purchased goods from this location online in the past so actually visiting Heart of the Desert was a wonderful treat! The pistachio chocolates are amazing and the wine tasting experience was both informative and fun.

We were warmly greeted and invited to watch a short film about the pistachio growing cycle and processing. That was interesting as we didn't know anything about it. We sampled several different types of candies and made a couple of purchases because of that.

Less touristy than McGinns's down the street. Pistachios are ok (not nearly as good as those from CA) and wine was much too sweet for us. Better to stop at McGinns's for a photo op with the giant pistachio but not worth buying any.

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your visit more. Everyone does have different palate's. New Mexico wines tend to run much sweeter due to the constant sun and heat and are perfect for those that enjoy sweeter wines or those developing their palates.
