Know your farmer, know your food! Ever wonder what a super food is? Do you...

Know your farmer, know your food! Ever wonder what a super food is? Do you know the climate of Alamogordo is identical to Iran? Eagle Ranch is a self contained agribusiness which means that everything that is done to the crop, from start to finish, is done right here on the premises. Our most popular attraction, the FREE farm tour, offers visitors a behind the scenes look at harvesting and processing pistachios while providing unusual and little known facts about one of America's favorite snacks.

The tour takes about forty-five minutes. You will visit the field, the processing plant, the salting and roasting facility, as well as our packaging and shipping departments. It's a walking tour with wheelchair accessibility.

Don't forget to leave plenty of time to visit our gift shop. We offer FREE samples of our pistachio products and candies, as well as our award winning wines. Enjoy a glass of wine or pistachio ice cream on The Grove Patio overlooking the pistachio trees. The Grove Patio is even available for private events.

Free Tours Daily

June - August: Monday through Friday, twice a day at 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM

September - May: Monday through Friday at 1:30 PM

Groups: We are happy to accommodate groups of 10 or more by appointment.

Nice shop and people that are very helpful. Didn't feel like someone trying to take my money. Good prices, 30% below "the other one". You still have to watch your prices however. Check the local groceries.

The pistachio tour is well worth it. Key is taking the tour. While waiting, enjoy the beautiful patio (warm clothes if winter), sample their excellent wine (no charge), while nibbling on cheese (purchased). Our tour left at 1:30 pm (lasted almost an hour, mostly inside, all on foot). One of the two company founders - Mary Ann - likely will... More

Never seen a pistachio tree before. Got a one-on-one tour with seasoned employees who knew a lot about the process and business. Tour went from beginning to end, including processing and packaging. Very interesting.

We arrived an hour before closing and found the store empty. The two women working the counter were not overly friendly and made us feel unwelcomed. I understand we were visiting with our kids but they never left our side and we held our six year olds hand the entire time. I feel we would have been treated differently if... More

I am so sorry you had a less than superb experience here. Perhaps the staff was bushed after a busy day, but that's still no excuse! Thank you for letting us know so that we can address the problem. Children are always welcome here, so I don't believe that had any bearing on the visit. Hopefully, you will be through... More

Heart of the Desert/Eagle Ranch has the nicest gift shop. I have not had a chance to take the tour, but would really like to see the full operation. The staff is very friendly. There are lots of gift choices. I really love going into the shop and just looking around, even finding something special to buy. For wine lovers,... More

I first had some of these pistachios from buying a bag at a grocery store traveling through NM. I loved them and wanted to find them again so when we were traveling through, we went out of the way to go to their farm. I wanted to go on the farm tour but during the time period we were visiting... More

This place is a "must see" and "taste"...there are many free samples and all are delicious. We bought 10 pounds of pistachios to bring back to Florida. Pistachios can stay fresh in the refrigerator for over a year....live and learn.

Great wine and yummy pistachios. Smaller than the place next door but better flavor by a long way! The gift shop is small but has some nice things and tasty treats to sample. True to New Mexico, they have delicious 'green chili' pistachios!
