We were on a way somewhere else when the taxi driver suggested stopping here. What a gem.
There are three separate parts, transport, farming and general household items gathered over the years. And an excellent tour guide who was knowledgeable and able to answer any questions.
Looking at the conditions the locals worked under, and their ingenuity to improve daily life was a marvel. Farming was back breaking manual, yet photos show smiling people.
The transport was both clever and intricate, adapting to local terrain.personally I thought the closed wedding carriages(must not be seen by anyone before the ceremony) was a harsh local custom. And cramped.
Household implements were clever, and I recognised versions of what we used in England.
Fascinating and Enjoyable

Museum is filled with interesting pieces from bygone era. Guide was enthusiastic but moved thru the museum at a fast pace and we felt rushed Was part of a group and it was hot so most of us wanted to get out quickly anyways. However those interested in past machinery, household items carriages etc would find this to be a bit of an Aladdin's cave

Great museum. We felt exported to centuries back. Maintained very well. The lady guide, enthusiastically explained everything very nicely. It's worth the entry fee.

Lovely local museum split into three sections - personal guide room you through each , the first being wheels , so loads of animal drawn carriages and chests etc , then a section on work and office work and life under the Portuguese and third life in the fields and cooking and farming. The are busy building a new section on farm to table which should be good . Small gift shop of local produced art etc. if you go by taxi ask them to wait as it’s difficult to get taxi back - an hour is about enough unless you want to really take your time!

Was a wonderful experience. A one person collection of 4000 items from the pre Portuguese era... very awe inspiring . A 45 mins well spent ... The guide Sushant was knowledgeable, patient with our questions and passionate about the place and each one of the items. A must go too ... Kudos to Victor Gomes !!!
