It's a great place for birding. See details on other articles for the list of water birds you find here. We spotted more than 30 in few hours! Toran resort is a place, the only place to stay and dine. Rooms and tents are good but bh indian standards only. Wherever there is a hand of india, good things are... More

The place is inhabited by foreign birds especially in the month of dec-jan. But the fee charged is quite high-Rs 75 per person & Rs 225 per person for 200 yards boat journey& that too for a single spot. For 6 spots the agents demand as high as Rs 6000. we bargained for Rs 2500. Overall the boat ride was... More

Entry queue is long and even after paying for the boat, you will not be shown anything. The people who take you on boat rides will ask you for more money around 5000₹ extra and you will have to bargain to actually see the migratory birds. I don't think it is worth it. As it is a bird sanctuary, it... More

The Sanctuary is live example of nature's abundance being looted by human greed. The lake is clean and beautiful however, the local guides actually misguide the tourists by charging extremely unfair prices for the boats. Moreover, the site lacks basic facilities like clean toilets or restaurant. The welcome relief is the local food available on the island, again not for... More

It was my unplanned visit. We reached there by 12:15. After purchasing entry pass ( 85/- per head. Children 50%discount) we were taken by eco car of safari. Lake water is nice and clean. Only 4 ft deep. Took boat ride. If you book at entry counter they don't show you properly. If you pay more ( after bargain) you... More

Do visit this place if you are simply looking for weekend recreation. Do not visit if your are a serious bird-watcher, especially on Sundays. The place has everything that one should not find in wildlife sanctuaries: Swarms of tourists with absolutely no regulation on the number of tourists allowed into the lake per day, boats going right up to flocks... The Lake is huge but not deep, so you can get around on flat-bottomed boats. An amazing variety of birds can be seen in and around the site. There's an Island over there and some local women serve some awesome Kathiwaad Food there itself. You can have a full meal for Rs 150 pp. Got the boat rides at the... More
