A walk through the old city of Ahmedabad, with an enthusiastic guide who explains the place. A few temples and one mosque are visited, but the main reason to take this tour is to see the pols, which are a lot more unique to this place.

A must-do walk in Ahmedabad. Superbly informed guide who makes you go through passages one would not suspect in the poles. Very, very enlightning walk. Perfect to discover and understand the maze of the old city. Splendid value for money.

We did the reverse of starting at the Sidi Saayad Mosque till we reached the Sri Swaminarayan Temple. The stories of the Pol/ mohalla/ colony are interesting. It's best to start early for this walk to avoid the traffic of old Ahmedabad. Our guide Nirav Panchal was an old hand at it. And we even met with the grandson of... More

History is here and alive..... Not in books. The technology used to built this place is good for that time and you will see by yourself.

We opted for the heritage night walk organized by the House of Magaldas since the evenings in Ahmedabad are slightly more bearable than the mornings. We were a group of 14 persons plus a guide provided by the House of Mangaldas. The tour was well organized, went off as per schedule, and was a completely new experience for all of... More

This walk is being organised 365 days a year for the last 20 years or so. That itself should give you an idea of its popularity. Lead by volunteers, this 2 hour walk takes you through the narrow streets of the old city, from the mandir (Swaminarayan) to the masjid (Jumma Masjid), giving you a rare insight on the art,... More

The Heritage Walk starts from Swami Narayan Temple, Kalupur. It starts in Morning 8:00. We should reach there @7:45 am and register for walk. Before walk there is small presentation regarding History of Ahmedabad and points to be visited during walk. There is a guide(volunteer) with the group, who gives brief details about place being visited. It is really worth... More

600 years Muslim, Maratha and British rule in Ahmedabad have given a distinct architectural identity to Ahmedabad. The pols of walled city, the resplendent temples and mosques and elements of heritage unique only to Ahmedabad. The first of these heritage walks gave me a perspective of the khadkis, khancho and pols of Khadia and Ratanpol areas.. What a splendid way... More
