- Gajarajan1947Chennai (Madras), India3,780 contributionsA good spot to spend evening with family or friendsThis Sabarmati water front is developed on the bank of the River Sabarmati in the central location of the city, right on front of the new, modern and picturesque bridge that has been constructed to cross the river. There is also a well developed garden along side the entrance. We actually went there in the Morning time, but it will be ideal location for a visit on the evening.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 November 2023
- Kapil SoodBengaluru, India413 contributionsIncredible place in the heart of a busy cityWhat an incredible place in the heart of a busy city. Truly appreciate the local Govt building this place and maintaining it. We went on a 5km walk on the east bank in the evening and were very pleasantly surprised to see how well it's maintained, including all the gardens around. Did not however go on the Atal bridge as it seemed to be full of visitors.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 January 2024
- BalkrishnaShroffMumbai, India26,174 contributionsWorth visiting !!The way it is developed over the years, it has become a must visit attraction in Ahmedabad. I remember 25/30 years back when I used to visit city, the river used to be total empty during summer time. We could see the riverbed full of stones and trash. It cleary proves if there a will there a way. We could spent only 30 minutes due to shortage of time. It was amazing. Next time we will explore more specially beautiful gardens.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 March 2024

The view in the evening is so beautiful that what can I say, everyone should come here once. My vacation went very well. All the family members were very happy to come here.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 3 April 2024

Went to this place with a lot of expectations and I must admit I wasn't disappointed. This is something that happens every year in January or so when kite flyers from all across the globe come over to Ahmedabad to show case their skills and one of the Japanese guys really showed his skills as his kite along with one of the Indian guys totally stood apart. This place has also got a lot of food outlets so that once you get bored from seeing the kites, you can also enjoy great variety of food here. Overall, it was surely an enjoyable outing with the kids.

We went to this place with family. Very beautiful and very clean place to sit and roam inside. You will feel like you are roaming inside any foreign country. Beautiful lights inside will attract your mind very strongly. Please visit only in evening time to this place.

I am rather puzzled by the reviews. I haven't seen any gardens or entertainments here. When I visited in December end 2019, I travelled along Sabarmati river several times. All access points were closed. Since the river front is developed on both sides, one cannot go near Sabarmati river. The place which runs into several kilometers along the river looks immaculate, but deserted.

The riverfront area is a beautiful place to walk or hang out. It has been very tastefully done with an excellent view of the Sabarmati river. However, there are only certain places through which the river front can be accessed and the steps stink of urine and is maintained very badly. Also, one has to walk a lot to exit the riverfront which makes it difficult for older people
Please consider adding a lift facility and improving the access to the riverfront.

When I first saw it, I was gadzooked by the sheer cleanliness and maintenance of the Sabarmati riverfront...no different, say to what you might experience at the Thames riverside in London or any other significant river side city! Kudos to the municipality for maintaining such an awesome site...the Atal bridge is the icing on the cake along with the flower park...at night the bridge is a sight to behold! Don't miss it if in Ahmedabad!!

It was a wonderful place to visit. And I got to see many things in Sabarmati riverfront. The lake is the visual treat in the centre of the city. I would recommend this place for anyone who wishes to go for walking, jogging and hangout with friends

Appreciative effort done by the administration and a good Time out. CYCLING, Boating, Fast Food, Clean River water and so many Old people spending their time presenting a very pleasing scenario. Other States should learn from the effort to maximize the assets.

Visited the riverfront during my recent trip to Ahmedabad. If you love walking close to a water body this is the place to be. It is an excellent place for a nice stroll or you could hire a bicycle and enjoy a nice ride. It had kite festival and flower show also going on during this time of the year - that was added benefit.

How to explore all attractions along riverfront? And which bank is better to visit east or west. Can anybody guide how to explore all major attractions and activities along the sabarmati riverfront? Thanks.
Written 16 November 2018
The major permanent attraction is boating. Rest of the events are organized from time to time.you have to check dates with your travel programme. Usually flower show is in winter and lasts very long. You can visit kite museum and sanskar Kendra which is open six days a week throughout year. National Institute of Design is also at walking distance from here. For other attractions of the city you have to leave reviver front and enter the city area.

Is it open late night today or not. Also if we came by a car, there is a parking space/lot. Please suggest me for today only
Written 20 October 2017
It should be understood that Riverfront is basically a road alongside the river or is motorable river bank. One can visit/ travel any or all 24hours on it. However the attractions like boating, bicycle hire and attractions around are open daytime, usually 9 am to 5pm. Most attractions on the riverfront is almost in the middle.
