Located in the outskirts of the city, Sarkhej Roja was built by one of the four Ahmed (masters) who laid foundation of Ahmedabad. The complex includes four major structures: Tomb: final resting place of the Ahmed, it has a large sanctum and covered courtyard with artictic carvings Mosque: a large mosque Palace complex: two magnificently large palace complexes surrounds a... This was the only place I took time out to visit in the city, it was clean inside and calm and quiet. Good place to come and be away from the madding crowd

This is must visit place for tourists in Ahmedabad. It's a religious place so tourist must pay respect to the rules. Best time is early morning as afternoon is little crowded and hot, avoid religious festival time. Main shrine has amazing calmness and feel like you can sit there for hours even if you are non Muslim.

Unique place in Ahmedabad. Specific Ahmedabad area architecture, nice open spaces and place to enjoy a cultural evening if there is a program. Well maintained normally.

Been to this place on a Sunday, it's located just 1km off SG highway. It's a dargah as well as has a mosque inside the premises built almost 600 plus years back. The pond in the centre is poorly maintained by the authorities however the dargah part is neat and well maintained. Entry is free for all, women are not... More

Although the monument itself is very huge and scenic, the management has done little to maintain it. The lake behind it is very dirty. People were spitting and some were even rolling a joint. This wasn't expected at all. Women are not allowed in the mosque and men are not allowed without full pants. Overall it's an average place to... More

This was my second visit to Sarkhej Roza. It is a mosque and tomb complex near Ahmedabad. The complex is known as "Acropolis of Ahmedabad." It is a place to sit quietly and contemplate on time and timelessness. This time I noticed that it has drawn crowds like the better known mosques and this place was over run with vendors... More

Visited the place.. truly kept well..takes you back to the 15th century for sure..but would make a difference if the water body was maintained well..found some rubbish which can Mar a tourists impression about the place

A complex of Islamic monuments. 4-5 structures in total. All of them are a piece of craftsmanship. Every jali is unique and the carvings are intricate. A must visit. The mosque is running and you are allowed to pay homage to the gods. The distance from the city is comparatively greater but a well managed trip would face no problem
