Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Water level in Lake extremely low. Hardly 3-4 feet. Most of the part is dry. 12 years back it was a good attraction where it was a beautiful water body having 15 to 20 ft depth. And good place to hang around and boating

The property is superb. The housekeeping and the room service was good. The place has peace and silence to offer. The breakfast as well as the dinner menu was very limited. The dinner menu could have been much better as it is TAJ. Manav was always available for anything. Tarun made sure we had the best food during dinner, He made us some good food according to our choice from chicken tikka to mutton to fish. Thankyou Tarun and Thankyou to the chef for taking good care of us. Housekeeping staff should know when guests want only that time they should clean and not without permission. Overall experience was good. Thankyou Team Taj Damdama. Cheers

We went right after Dussehra and the hotel was following all COVID precautions and protocols. Extremely good food. Brilliant activity for children infants young adults and couples - paintballing archery rifle shooting. They had an active spa which I didn’t use. Room service was extremely active. We stayed in 101 which was 2 rooms converted to a suite. Very spacious and perfect with a young child. The room opened into garden area and it was very close to nature. Highly recommended.

Th Resturant outdoor sitting is also very good and extremely good service.

No No, if you never visited a village then go and see. It's just a village with a small lake. Nothing special. You will see goons around you, drunk people asking for money etc. You can go solo, but with family, a big no.

Since last two years I was hearing my friends having corporate team building sessions at Damdama Lake... in photos the place looked beautiful and fresh. Finally, we too broke our long hiatus and decided to see Damdama Lake.

It was about 20 km from sector-56 and we thought of taking CRPF road through Central jail to Damdama lake instead of Sohna road...bad mistake... after going for around 8 km, a policemen stopped our car and informed that this road is not for civilians, we need to go back to Sohna road and then head for Damdama lake. Instead,we took a turn towards village road and which after driving on a muddy, pot-holed road left us on Damdama Lake road, which was no better.

The scenery was good, traffic was thin and road was broken...we drove for about an hour and reached Damdama Lake tourist restaurant maintained (really??) by Haryana Govt. The lake is placid, backdrop is good, and boating is reasonable priced...once on the boat, we realized that water is not as clean as it looked and there were mosquitos flying above our head. On the other side of the lake, there were a few buffalos bathing and a few villagers washing clothes. After the boat ride, we went to the restaurant and asked for tea...service is lousy and the menu is limited....better to carry eatables/tea from home. Washroom at the Tourist restaurant was clean... a major plus point of the place.

Overall, a 'skippable ' place...Siliserh Lake near Alwar is a better option, though distance is much more. Still, if one is planning a day trip prefer Siliserh Lake over Damdama Lake.

this water body could be the best retreat close to delhi/gurgaon, but poor management, lack of basic hygiene and sanitation have resulted in this being a dumping ground of garbage bags. the access road is in disarray and you needs to find parts of the road from amongst the potholes.

Damdama lake itself is non existent but there are many good resorts whee you can have nice, relaxing / soothing / massaged weekend. The nights are really good, you can enjoy the dark tranquility which we have almost forgotten in the cities

Had a corporate two day one night outing, terrible place. You'd be bored in a few hours. The facilities are really cheap

I have been to Damdama multiple times and what was true the very first time is still true today -- there is limitless potential with this place, but it is not good at all. There is really no point in going here -- very little water, not taken care of, and the road leading to it is riddled with speed breakers and potholes. It is a pond, not a lake. The land would be better used as a paintball course, adventure park, or even a campground.

The redeeming value is the canteen. The staff there are very good and the food is tasty and reasonably priced.

I didn't carry a lot of expectations for a casual drive from Dwarka, Delhi to Damdam Lake but had read the reviews posted here (true to the word). What I didn't know was that I would pity on myself for making it to this place ;) Do you know this place has Gateway Resort (Taj Group)? But why??

To the point, this place can no longer be described as a lake. You would still find few people flocking though. If you have kids, camel rides can be taken. Beyond this, the place is littered badly at many patches and doesn't get you shades. You hardly have any choices around eating as well.

Big No to travel as a recommendation but if you still want to go and see for yourself to decide; please do and share the pain ;)
