Julley! That's a good route. Most travelers chose that one - go one way and return the other. What I did was - plan my trek around Spiti valley with Spiti holiday adventures - reason is: The real trek involves walking around the valley from village to village, parking yourself each night at a village and heading out the next morning to another village (about 9-11 kms away). So, you do get an essence of an adventurous trek (but moderately easy + take-your-breathe-away-trek) as well as good amount of interaction with locals. So apart from adventure, I'd give high ratings just for experiencing the local life and living it their way. The main reason I didn't go 100% solo was because I was a bit scared to go all by myself and stay without contact for a few days. This entire trek around Spiti valley costed me only 8k. From my homecity to Kaza was all of my expense - including staying, traveling to/from Kaza and food. At Kaza, you meet the spiti holiday adventures team and they introduce you to other fellow trekkers for the next 8 days. The village trek route was - Kaza, Langza, Komik, Demul, Lalung, Dhankar - Kaza. All the best for planning your trip! It is really fun. Until your trip - keep eating healthy, keep exercising with running up & down some altitude to gain stamina and control over your breath.
