When we were going to Yousmarg from Srinagar, we happen to cross this place. Its a small town and the mosque is in it's center. It's quite a big mosque and very sacred among the people over there. Our driver told us that every year there is one big festival happens and people from all over come and participate.

Charar-i-Sharief is considered one of the most sacrosanct Muslim shrines in India. It is situated approximately 28 km from Srinagar, en route to Yusmarg. The Shrine of Charar-i-Sharief is approximately 600 years old. Popularly known as the "Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali".

People go in search of Apple Orchards, Beautiful Valleys and all. Dont understand why this Dargah is being glorified. Found it pretty ordinary place.

We reached Charar-e-Sharif late in the evening on a cold wintry night and maybe that was the reason why it was secluded. We could sit in peace and soak in the opulence and the divinity of the place. Wonderfully crafted in walnut wood with massive chandeliers. Worth visiting

Weather was wonderful. Garden's in Srinagar were full of Marigolds & Dahlias. Place to stay Comrade Inn was very nice. Welcome hotel was okay in Gul marg. The best part was Mr. Uzair of Uzair Travels. We had hired two Innova Cars. Mr uzair was himself driving us all around. My full marks to him. He made us drive to... More

Visit this along with Yusmarg and your day is complete. There are apple plantations all along the way till Yusmarg. If you visit in September (spring season) you are sure to see tress loaded with red apples.....the best in India

On the way to Yousmarg (YUSMARG) from Srinagar or during return, you must stop at "Charare-i-Sharief" Dargah. Beauty of this place is the ancient architecture, wooden carvings, Persian carpets and a huge prayer hall that surrounds the Graves in the middle of the Dargah. This Dargah was also in the news for the fact that during extreme insurgency in J&K,... More
