Since then the Shiva Temple has become a revered spiritual destination for devotees and visitors. Year after year, with Lord Shiva’s blessings, the temple has transformed into a destination of faith that attracts millions of devotees from not only India but all around the world. SCAM ALERT: There is a scam going on.
BEWARE.
1) It is clearly written on the entrance that the "Only darshan" entry is free and Special pooja entry is 250rs per person. But when I asked for free entry then the lady in the ticket counter said that "free entry is not open" and we have to pay 250rs to enter.
2) Inside the temple, lots of pandits will offer puja and after 5mins of puja they will ask for money as "daan" or "dakshina". Avoid if you want to save money.
3) Other than this the temple and idols are beautiful.

Shivoham Shiva Temple is well made temple. But instead of being kept as a religious place it has been more of a commercial place, where visitors are forced to buy expensive tickets & perform poojas and other activities without their knowledge. So, beware before entering the place that you are not forced into spending unnecessary money.

This is not a temple but seemed like a theme park. Right from the entrance they start asking for money and offer different schemes. The Shiva statue is huge but there seemed no devotion. Everything is commercialized and money making in the name of God.

I asked my driver to bring me to an interesting place and he brought me to this temple. Had to pay the VIP entrance of 500 Rp as we were foreigners. A gift bag and tour is included in this price. It was a mind blowing experience as the priest brough me through each ritual.

Stop selling you gods Hindus!! Which god would agree that their Bhakt should buy ticket to meet them?? This is a scam place just to consume black money. The place is beautiful but its a scam. 250rs to see the Shiva and 500 Rs to offer prayers per head. That’s just unbelievable. Money is not the problem for me but I don’t believe in buying tickets to meet my gods.

The whole place is a scam . First they charge 250 per head to enter . The priests are all arrogant and they are disgusting. They ask Dakshina as soon as u approach them ..its worst than begging .The whole experience was disgusting . The people managing the temple look like goons than priests .

This place was better 15 years back..Now its completely changed . Not worth visiting .

Scam in the name of god. Irony is when you have to pay just to enter the temple. I can understand about shoe stand, prasad, flowers ,pooja items and VIP darshan but why to pay for entering the temple. a beggar sitting outside of the temple will never be able to see his god. Which God will approve such behavior. I had to return without darshan and paid my prayers to other shiva temple.

I write this review as of 5th May 2016. I went with my relatives for a visit to the temple. I was shocked to know that INR.150/- per head for the normal visit to the temple has been introduced. I mean why don't you write it at the entry gate ? Earlier it was free and special Darshan was INR.100/-. Can you imagine people being looted on the pretext of a Darshan. For any of Foreigners or Tourists visiting Bangalore, please know that entry fee is now INR. 150/- for entry into the inner Jyotirlinga puja. But, it is still a good place to visit with your family.
Also, the inner temple is slippery and not well lit. Very congested for small children.
