The Bangalore Palace was the private residence of the royal Wodeyar family. Built to resemble Windsor Castle, this quirky palace is filled with an interesting and eclectic collection of art and paraphernalia from a bygone era. The palace grounds are a popular venue for rock concerts and other music events.

Keep ample time in hand when you plan to visit this place. It has enough to keep one engrossed for a couple of hours. While on a visit do remember to carry your ID card and definitely opt for the audio device or else you will be lost without understanding anything. Though they do ask for charges for camera if... Quite small and appallingly run (join the ticket scrum wherever you like there's no attempt to keep order) this is certainly worth seeing. Good parking and the "castle" itself has quite a lot of artefacts on display. Upkeep coupld be better. Grounds were OK - former PM of India HK Dev Gowda was marrying off his grandson when we were... This is a stone palace somewhat quiet similar to Windsor castle. The palace is surrounded by a vast garden of various species of trees. The palace holds unique about 30000 paintings. Visit for- Paintings in the palace, history of the palace and its association with Bengaluru.Ticket cost for Indian tourist is approx 250 rs.

Well, you would be lured to see the Palace of Bangalore. I mean why not, at least once? It belongs to the city. Well, we liked the exterior part more. Built just like castle. But more than history, it reflected a commercial place. There were some wedding arrangements in process. The entry ticket is little steeper. And double for the... More

It is a beautiful palace but entrance ticket and camera price is very high. Since they have to maintain many rooms it is ok. Exterior is too good. Only few rooms are good inside the palace. They will give you audio player, that will explain history of each and every room.

This place is quite good and gives the idea about how a palace actually look. The entrance fee is bit steep(230 rs) but it is worth in the end. On my visit, some movie shooting is happening inside witnessed that too. Compare to Mysore palace it is small, listen to audio and walk around. Pay a visit you won't regret.
