We tried for a overnight package in Kerala. Our room is at the back side of the ship and biggest room in it. Bathroom is attached and spacious room. Lunch on boat is so delicious. Kerala grilled fish is my favorite. Indian style vege dishes are also delicious. I like onion pakoda (crispy onion fritters) too. It was fun to... More

We spent two nights on a houseboat in the backwaters. The stopped at small villages, a Toddy Parlor. It was one of our highlights on our trip to southern India. Spice Routes was the boat company and they did an outstanding boat trip. This is a family owned business and cares about the passengers

We overnighted on a Xandari houseboat..a converted rice barge and loved every moment. Our trip consisted of the 2 of us and 3 crew including a chef who produced delicious local cuisine. The atmosphere is unique and seeing life on the banks and the locals daily way of life, along with plenty of wildlife, was a wonderful experience. The bedroom was... More

Its all getting a bit like Venice. There are some stunning areas. But sadly there is also alot of dross along with other boats.

Amongst the most important tourism aspects of tourism in Kerala, Backwaters is a must explore tourist destinations for travelers who visit Kerala. The vast expanse of waterways divided into lakes, canals, rivers, and breathtaking lush greenery can surely amaze you.

There are actually not a lot of things to do in Kerala, and by the end of the week, I was running out of ideas. Although I had been on a backwaters canoe trip in Kollam, for want of anything else to do, I signed up for another canoe trip in Kottayam. It turned out to be interesting and different... More

We booked for an overnight stay on the Pickadly boat called Royal Suite and it was exactly as I imagined it, great overall, only negative was the bathroom, which had a bit of an unpleasant smell, as it has no ventilation and we didn't open the window as were using the aircon at night. You can close off the living... More
