The Asia's largest arch dam, is a part of Idukki Hydro project. This dam doesn't have flood gates and the view off and from the dam is magnificent.

The arch of the dam is huge and visible from far away distance. We stopped on the way while travelling from Munnar to Thekkady to have a break and have a view of the dam from a distance. Its a giant arch indeed.

The Idukki Dam can be seen from the road on the way towards Thekkady from Munnar. It is a huge arched dam and one of a kind in this part. Worth spending some time here to admire an engineering marvel.

The view from the main road while travelling from Munnar to Thekkady is good. The dam is gigantic and surrounded by greenery. its worth to take a break and enjoy the view with a sip of coffee and something to munch.
