This place is in fort kochi and bustling with activity. Shops, restaurants, Art galleries, spice sellers are all over the place. Roads are narrow and crowded, but you will get to sample local culture here !

My wife and I enjoyed the fish and vegetable market, as well as the many 500-600 year old Portuguese warehouse in the district. There is also a outdoor hand-laundry that dates to washing clothes for Dutch solders in the mid-1700s.

this is a good place for shopping. Nothing much left of the old architecture, but still worth visiting for shopping in Cochin.

A best place in Kochi to buy some exotic items like old antiques, coins, stamps, spices, food items, clothes and many more that will be according to your taste. This is a must see place for both sight seeing and shopping. A lovely place truly...

Our senses were stimulated by the colours and smells of the wide array of herbs and spices on display which were vying for space with the trinket, food, drinks and ice-cream vendors along with gift and clothes shops.

If you are planning a trip, you must visit during the biannual art festival that has some amazing art strewn in the lost unlikely places besides the art galleries. Loved the narrow lanes (especially the ones that do not allow traffic) to see the lovely old buildings, tiled roof tops and one can imagine the old world that used to... More

Mattachenrry is far from the madness of downtown Cochin. A quaint seaside town it is dotted with queer old buildings, fancy restaurants and souvenir shops. It also houses places of interest like churches , the only functioning synagogue in India and defunct factory buildings like that of Aspinwal. Definitely worth a visit and a meal. During the Muziris Biennale the... More
