The main deity of this temple is durga devi. The temple is built on a rock. It is a half day acclivity. You will be inspired the architectural value of this place.

The sanctorum is built of rocks by nature itself.the deity is godess durga, but for the last couple of years, the idol is moving to make space for an idol of Lord Shiva, which is appearing gradually. Located 50kms north-east of Kochi, near Perumbavoor, this temple is carved out of a single rocked reached by climbing 120 steps. The Hindu godess Durga is the main deity, while Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are also worshipped. The interesting feature of this temple is its also a Jain temple with a statue of Mahavira.

Ancient temple with Jain architecture. Fantastic place. Carry drinking water and some snacks (if going with children) as there are no convenient places to get it nearby. Nearest place would be Perumbavoor. Worth a visit.

It is a devi temple. The deity is inside a cave. When we visited it was really hot. There are some small shops nearby to purchase water and snacks. As it is a devi temple, we have to maintain proper discipline here. The other travel destination, Iringol Kavu is nearby.
