Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Few years back it was an Island and only access was through boat but now its connected by bridges. Its got a beautiful hotel in it. One of the few attractions in and around Cochin. Sunsets are really beautiful to see from here.

The place is worth a visit if in kochi for its beautiful scenery. Although its well connected with the bridges and can be accessed by roads but nothing better than taking a boat ride to get there specially for sun rise or sun set.

On a visit to the Grand Hyatt we came to the island.
It looked like secluded and isolated from the actual city.
Has access and exits to the main roads that gives you short cuts if you going towards the airport for example.
The views were amazing from all sides. Especially the one overlooking the see and the harbor ... where you see the big cruises passing by, and the greenery from every direction.
It's also quiet and peaceful ( or could be when we went only :)) ) ... It surely has a magical touch

Bolgatty is an island near the Kochi harbour mouth is famous for the Bolgatty Palace built by the Dutch in 1744.The palace holds the distinction of the oldest Dutch palace outside Holland. In the year 1909, the Britishers took it over on lease. Nowadays, this imposing palace is a luxury hotel, run by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation. The palace-hotel complex has honeymoon cottages and also a mini golf course.Bolgatty Island is one of the beautiful tourist attraction in Kochi. The exotic seas scape and the serene ambiance of the island are worth a visit. Moreover, the Bolgatty Island is a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the crowded cities.

I happened to visit this place for a wedding reception in the evening, lovely spot for a wedding, but our wedding party had organized the reception in a closed air conditioned hall, which stole the serene nature but the food was served outside with live counters. The island is a lovely sight especially in the night, lot of boats and ships were crossing with all the lights in it, the Dutch palace was also lit with lights and it was a lovely sight... the only issue is they do not serve liquor in the entire Island... so when you get ready to spend time in Bolgatty island take care as far as liquor is concerned...

I was informed it is a tourist attraction spot. But having visited many tourism spots, I do not find this place is some thing great for visit. Inside this island, there is a palace, as people say, which is just a hotel. This small area has a big lawn and that is the attraction, where one can spent an hour so peacefully. Nearby a boat jetty is there, frequent services are there to high court boat jetty on Marine drive road - ernakulam, the journey may take 10 minutes.
