- Vishnu MKozhikode, India1 contributionBest place in calicut to spend your evening, Whether its a business meeting or leisure, Calicut beach got it all.One of the best places in Calicut to spend your leisure time. I went for a business meeting in Starbucks calicut which is located in Calicut beach. It is the first and only star bucks in India with a beach view.Visited October 2023Travelled on businessWritten 11 October 2023

- muhavinMuvattupuzha, India1 contribution"Tranquil Escape with Stunning Sunsets at Kozhikode Beach"Kozhikode Beach is a beautiful destination for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. The golden sands, gentle waves, and stunning sunsets create a perfect setting for relaxation. The beach is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of space for a peaceful stroll along the shore. You can also enjoy local street food, including Kozhikode’s famous seafood. The beach is less commercialized, which adds to its charm, though there are limited facilities for tourists. Overall, it's a great spot to unwind and soak in Kerala's coastal beauty, especially for those looking to escape the crowds.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 6 September 2024

The main Kozhikode Beach is one of the finest beaches in India. It is quite well maintained and clean, with a beachfront promenade that is lined with sculptures and a boundary wall that is covered with street art depicting scenes from everyday life.
There is ample seating built along the promenade where one can sit and relax. The promenade is well lit, and there is a pay to use public toilet as well. Weekdays are less crowded and weekends are avoidable due to the rush. Although there are a lot of hawkers here selling everything from children's toys to snacks, they are normally not pesky or troublesome.
Free roadside parking is available, but finding a slot can be tricky especially on a holiday. Across the road there are several restaurants and dining options.
Walking along this aesthetically pleasing promenade or simply sitting there and watching the sunset is a pleasure.

A clean beach. Not crowded when I visited around 10 AM today , Saturday.
Lots of spots to take pictures, Gentle waves .
Would be nice to visit in the evening .
Sculptures have been placed to adorn it , and they look pretty cool .

Ice Achaar (scraped ice with pickles) and Uppilittath (pickles of anything that can be pickled) served by vendors on the beach is a sight very difficult to miss when we visit Kozhikode beach. The beach usually crowded is where almost everything happens in Kozhikode. Whether it's a fair or the Kerala Literature Fest. .

Dirty beach. Dirty to the hilt. You get dead remains of birds and other muck along with the waves. Too many hawkers that they eat up the parking. Pathetic beach. Problem is that it's not a tourist spot, it's a local beach. So like chaupati, people come here for evening walk and spending time with family and eat here only. And typical Indians that we are, every place is a dustbin except our house. So that's like it. Not worth.

We were on the beach in the afternoon and wanted to explore the beach. Even after getting off we could smell the foul smell of the sea. A bad mix of old fish and faeces. The beach was still acceptable at the beginning, but the further we went towards the fishing port the beach became a dump. Already after 100 meters we realized why the water straightened like this, a sewer pipe led a smelly broth into the sea. Unfortunately, this was not the only sewer pipe on the beach. All in all a total disaster, a visit here is absolutely superfluous!

Kozhikode will always hold a particular place in Kerala's history because it was here that Vasco-da-Gama first set foot on Indian soil and the fabled Spice Route was born. This area still exudes a sense of history. The epitome of the many qualities that make Kozhikode so distinctive is Kozhikode Beach.

The ideal location for a trip with friends and family. Our safety will be guaranteed by precautions. The environment is really wonderful and radiates positivity. A nice atmosphere is created by the benches, which are tidy and inviting places to unwind. We may also treat ourselves to some delectable meals and spend quality time together.
