The Kanakakunnu Palace in Thiruvananthapuram is in Kowdiar and is built by the Travancore Royal family. Its architecture is great and has a good garden. Now a days lot of events are organised there.

Go to Kanakakunnu any day and you will find cultural programmes or exhibitions. Lots of space to sit and relax. Nothing much to see inside the palace. But the compound is beautiful.

This is one of the oldest palace in the town. This a famous palace in this locality. At their traditional festival called onam which is a harvest festival of the state the whole place is decorated traditionally which is an awesome sight to see.

The palace is close to the zoo and has beautiful gardens, lush green lawns. The best time to visit is during Onam, when the whole house is decked up.
