Jain temple

This temple has the carvings of yakshis or female mythical beings. The carvings on the outer walls are equally amazing.

Only complaint I have with this one, they are renovating it - and it was in all yellow (the renovated parts) like the color they have in modern Jain temples. I would have preferred the earlier stone color of the temple. Hope they get back to it,... More

Some of them are good but one or two temples have been painted with an ugly shade of yellow. It's hideous and they have spoilt the appearance.

THis is one of the three Jain temples, which are located within the same compound. The architecture is similar to the temples in the Western complex.

Smaller and partially restored. Fine sculptures and bands. Very similar to the Hindu temples but the striking black image in the inner sanctum.

These are Jain temples very close to the other temples so most trips will being you by here. Nice intricate work, and some private shops as you enter. Not a big crowded place, and some groups dont come here.

This temple is in eastern group of temples which houses three main Jain temples and Adinath temple is one of them. Most of the part of the temple is lost and only the main Garbha graha with Adinath shrine in black marble with its beautiful tower and a front mandapam is left for now. Beautiful temple among big trees and... More

Adinath temple is important among the jain Temple of Khajuraho. In fact Adinath, Parshvanath and Shantinath Temples fall in one campus of the Eastern group that is also known as Jain temples of Khajuraho. Though the carvings on the walls of temple have the same theme, that is irotic and nude poses, yet these carvings here are better in the... More
