Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I like the place because It’s a hub for stray animals. Stray bulls and street dogs are lying everywhere. I enjoyed the show when a stray bull hit a street hawker and street hawker was lying upside down on ground with all his stuff lying here and there on the road. He he he.

Kote Gate is the main entrance gate of Bikanker city. It offers a glimpse of the magnificent architectural work in the city. Kote gate is a architectural masterpiece which separates the old city and the new city of Bikaner, standing tall in the middle of the road. One of the most popular activities near Kote gate is to indulge in shopping in the local bazaar.

The place is a heaven for Rajasthani shopping. In case you are looking for authentic Rajasthani wares/ handicraft items Kote Gate is the place for you.

Located right at the center of the city Kote Gate is easily accessible. The localites are friendly to tourists and you can go for good bargain.

Happy Shopping !

Kote gate is an old gate which is an entrance to market place. This place is over crowded whole day...There are many shops to buy Rajasthani art and craft material but I didnt find it really interesting.

The Bikaner city is divided in two part. Part one is wall city i.e. the old city surrounded by wall. This wall have many gates known as Jassusar Gate, Goga Gate, Bidasar Bari, Nathusar Gate and Kot Gate. The Kote Gate is the most important gate because it is the heart of the city where we can see the entire culture of the city at a single point. There are five lanes at Kote Gate and every lane has way to a different market. All the activity of city can be visualised at this point. If any one stay at Kote Gate he can see the entire activities of the people.

As gates go this is nothing special-you will see ones like this all over Rajasthan.
One thing you may find interesting if you can tolerate the fumes , noise & crush is when the level crossing gates shut the road in two places very near to the gate. ( the train line crosses the road twice at an oblique angle ). The build up of traffic-mostly motor bikes - is something to behold.
Starting on foot at this gate you can search old the old havelis hidden away down tortuous alleyways . Good luck in finding them!

Bikaner city was also covered by protecting wall..like other king ruled cities.Kotegate is also the heritage entrance gate to old Bikaner city..Hats of to its solid architecture..that even after 500 years and heavy traffic crossed everyday..still Kotegate remain erected with the same royal proud..One should stand by it and feel the long journey it has crossed..

Kote Gate is the entry point that would lead you to lots of beautiful havelis, the most notable of them being Rampuria Havelis. There are 5 Havelis which together form the set of Rampuria Havelis. The Architecture is absolutely splendid. As these are private residences you would not be allowed to step inside this Havelis. But after a chat with gatekeeper of one of this Havelis we were informed that they are around 200 years old with each of this Havelis having a minimum of 10 rooms. A good place for a quick photo ops!

The gate itself is nice to see but not worth the traffic congestion you have to deal with to view it. Would have been interesting to see the train pass but timing was noy right.

This is an old entrance gate to the old city of Bikaner. It is better to avoid going there as there is too much traffic, especially when the railway crossings near it are closed and the cows sitting in the middle of the road add to the crush . There is nothing architecturally great about them.
