A Fort which shines in golden colour due to its stones. History marked with the glory of Royalty in this desert area. The architecture was mind blowing. The area around the fort can be seen from the terrace. A must see.

The least engaging if the three northern Indian forts I visited (Jodpur, Jaisalmer and Jaipur). Give the audio your a miss and just have a walk through, lots of construction and mess.

The old Fort rises out of the Thar desert in glowing yellow sandstone. A mix of massive fortifications and beautiful carvings it deserves it's world heritage status. Great just to walk around and soak up the atmosphere but don't miss the Maharawal Palace and the exquisite Jan Temples. Loads of shops in the fort - friendly in their efforts to... More

There are actually people living in the ford, which makes it different from others fords I have visited. The views are great, and it is a nice place to do some shopping. The prices are very cheap and if you are interested, they offer special lassie!

Sonar Kella we always wanted to visit after watching the famous Roy movie. But was really dissapointed at its current state of affairs. Heard from our guide that 5000 people live in the premise ...it shows in its depleted state. Needs immediate cleanup and maintenance. The Jain Temple was very impressive ... so were the decors on haveli walls.
